The African Development Bank (AfDB) is implementing its “Feed Africa” Strategy – a bold and ambitious plan to help the continent achieve food self-sufficiency.

The AfDB Livestock Flagship will prioritize investments in livestock value chains, aligned to national development priorities.

The AfDB’s Livestock Investment Master Plan (LIVEMAP)  will seek to map priority investments and initiatives that will complement the AfDB’s Regional Member Countries and agro-ecological zones’ comparative advantages.

The Livestock Investment Master Plan aims to catalyze:

LIVEMAP was conceptualized in support of the Livestock Flagship of the AfDB to support AfDB Regional Member Countries, and other partners looking to design livestock investments.

LIVEMAP aims to align with country, regional and continental priorities, while tapping into relevant livestock expertise, technologies and solutions developed by relevant international, regional and national organizations working to improve lives and livelihoods through more effective investments in livestock.

LIVEMAP was developed with support from a Technical Working Group, that included ILRI, FAO, OEI, AU-IBAR, ICPALD, CIRAD and IFPRI, and the AfDB TAAT Livestock Compact.
